I have set up this website as an assistant to anyone who loves tattoos or wants to come up with orginal tattoo ideas.

I’m putting together a huge collection of tattoos from the deepest corners of internet and private tattoo artists’ galleries and archives (1000s of tattoo designs!) from which you can pick your favorite ones and have a tattoo maker get them personalized for you.

First of all here is a brief outline to what tattoo is and is not:

A tattoo is a pattern, design or a motif drawn on any part of the body using body-safe indelible inks and surgical-sterile tools.

Tattoos appear sometimes in the form of a letter tattoo, sometimes a chinese character tattoo or a symbol tattoo. The reason why people want to have tattoos is sometimes to express oneself, sometimes adorn their body and, especially lately, cover up undesirable scars, wrinkles or plaques. But it is for certain that for centuries tattoing has been, above all, an art of self-expression.

All tools used for tattoing must be stainless steel and sterile. The needles must meet the same requirements and each needle, pot and gloves used when tattooing must be disposed of immediately after the first use. Genuine tattoo inks are tested and approved by WHO (World Health Organization).

Value to tattooing should not be underestimated. It is much more than simply “painting the body”. It is an art and a culture of its own. Although it was used as a religional marker or to show who belongs to what tribe in the past, it is today categorized as an art.
